I used RUC but it says that my DSL 502T is incompatible with RT firmware, my current firmware revision is the newest version. Is it possible to ugrade my router to RT 2.92? Here is the log file from RUC:

Code:

Your current firmware is too old to upgrade to a RouterTech firmware.
Please upgrade to your router manufacturer's latest firmware and run this program again.

Can someone give me some steps how to upgrade my router to RT 2.92?

Your firmware is not that old - 2007?
Code:
Firmware stamp: 20070425174401

but DSL driver, if this is correct is ancient ~2003

Code:
DSP: 3.02.06.00

and D-Link have stored a version number in the nsp box

Code:
NSP: V2.00B12.AU_20070425

Please post the contents of the env that the RUC will have stored, you should mask personal identifying MAC addresses.

Also see if you can connect with the RRT or PC-Tool, you will likely need one or the other to upgrade firmware.

This is the env content, I upgraded my firmware from 1.0 to 2.0 EU version (via tiupgrade.exe) and then to AU version revision 12 (via web interface). Is it possible that my DSL driver didn't get upgraded?

DSP drivers are built into firmware, no chance they are older, its possible it is really V6.2.3, but reporting of version number is wrong. Your mtd vars look fine for single image upgrade via web, suggesting firmware is not too old. The old adam2 version is fussy, but you have found tiupgrade works.

Will modified tiupgrade below do the job of upgrading to RT?

Code:
DSL-500T Routertech 2.91.1 DSP 7.05 Flash Amd & Atmel (22.09.2009) -> Download (ftp://ftp%40adsl4all.net:adsl4all.net@adsl4all.net/Modem/Dlink/Dlink_DSL-500T/DSL-500T_Routertech_2.91.1_20090922.zip)

You don' really expect us to answer that question, do you? I think you'd better ask whoever released that mod.

I read that PPoE connections do not work under RT, is that true since my ISP uses PPoE?

There have been problems with specific ISPs in the past.

A good rule of thumb: if in doubt, then don't try it.

Do you know if there is any way to enforce ADSL2+ modulation on my router using telnet? I mainly wanted to try ADSL2+ modulation but the firmware on my router doesn't have that option in web interface, and that's why I wanted to try RT.

Not with DSP 3.x

@Vibovit
Maybe you can find a newer DSP than 3.x with this last release:

DSL-502T Ax NZ_3.00B02 - 20060710

If you want to upgrade via browser configuration download the package above and unpack it with WinRAR!

DSL-502T is exatly the same of DSL-504T without switch and plus a USB port: so I think that RouterTech can works on your device! :)

I tried to use tiupgrade.exe from the rar but it gave me an error and my router's lights wouldnt power on reboot, the router was bricked (corrupted image mode didn't work). So I tried to de-brick my router with the firmware you provided and I had read FAQ before. I tried RouterRepairTool and it would stuck at 33% when trying to upgrade firmware (erasing mtd4), but luckily pctool 2.1 did the job and I managed to unbrick my router since Adam2 was there. The firmware you pasted has DSL firmware which supports ADSL2+, it's 5.0 version and it works fine, thanks again for providing the link :) My attenuation dropped and margin is much better on adsl2+ now :)
