DSLG624T: ethernet problems
Hi,
I've a DSLG624T that has a problem on all ethernet ports, I cannot use these ports, but I can access It from wi-fi signal.
I'm using the firmware V3.10B01T02.EU-A.20070924 and I found many articles here that explain how to connect using one of these tools:
- pctool
- TIUpgrade
- adm6996-tool
I want to know if this problem can be solved by using one of these tools?
I want to know what is a RouterTech alternative firmware?
If exists a RouterTech alternative firmware for DSLG624T?
Do you have any other tips that can help me?
Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
The switch in that router is flaky. You can try setting the speed of your ethernet card manually to 10mbps, and see if that works. However, I think that your best bet is the adm6996-tool. It should be able to resuscitate at least some of the ports - but I doubt if all of them can be restored.

Yes, I confirm that the switch in that router is flaky and I got access It through 10mbps !!!
The adm6996-tool will solve this problem?
This problem can be caused by bad capacitors?
Does exists a Routertech firmware for DSLG624T?
Thanks on more time.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
Not sure what the cause of the problem is - dodgy capacitors, flaky switch, overheating, etc. Your best bet for fixing some of the ports is the adm6996 tool. Yes, RT firmwares support the G624T. Run the RUC or the Firmware Tool.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
Can you give me the links for the adm6996 tool and RT firmware for G624T?
What is "RUC" Firmware Tool?
The RT firmware for G624T give me the option to use It as repeater (WDS)?

Using the firmware 302B01T02EUA20070413 for the DSLG624T, It has support for WDS.
It has an option on: Advanced > Wireless Management -> "WDS" option -> choose of of theses: Repeater, Bridge or Crude
If It realy accept WDS, the RT firmware will permit to configure as repeater?

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
I used firmware_tool v0.97b and set the options "Create env. script for: The RouterTech firmwares" and "Router desc./name, etc: Dlink DSL-G624T" and It returned to me:

*** WARNING! There are possible compatibility issues. This is the compatibility failure report:
* Unknown/Unsupported core logic
Attempting to install RouterTech firmwares would probably trash your router! So do NOT do it.
But if you insist on going ahead (entirely AT YOUR OWN PERIL!), here is a further report:
Select an AR7WRD ADAM2 4 PORT firmware.
Latest: routertech-ar7wrd-adam2-firmware-4ports-20120130.zip
Note: a later version of the firmware may exist depending on the how up to date the Firmware Tool is.
Please read the instructions that come with the firmware files before you upgrade.
According to your current MTD values, you should be able to upgrade using a single firmware image.
An environment restoration script has been generated for The RouterTech firmwares only.
Your 4-port router does not seem to have a Marvell-compatible switch.
The RouterTech firmware partly supports the RTL305SC, IP175C, and (to
a lesser extent) ADM6996M switches. But there could be problems.
Proceed at your own risk!

Any change that It will work?

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
It depends on what you mean by "it". If you mean the appropriate firmware image from "routertech-ar7wrd-adam2-firmware-4ports-20120130.zip", then yes. The compatibility warning is simply because of the way the Dlink firmware reports the NSP version.raslvideos wrote:Any change that It will work?
You also need to ask yourself why you want to change your firmware.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
I decided for my own risk, that I'll update the firmware using the most recently RT firmware.
I want to understand when the adm6996 tool must be used, If before or after the RT firmware update.
I already searched in other topics, but I didn't find how adm6996 tool must be used, If by command line or inside the web interface of RT control panel.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
The tool can be used either before or after the RT upgrade. It must be run from the command line.
You connect to the router via telnet or ssh, use "wget" to download the tool into the /var/ directory, set its executable flag, and then execute it with the appropriate parameters.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
I'm a newbie on Linux's world, can you give the complete command line to use wget and to execute the ADM6996 tool? You connect to the router via telnet or ssh, use "wget" to download the tool into the /var/ directory, set its executable flag, and then execute it with the appropriate parameters.
I detected that the only the first lan port is dead, all the time the led is on. I'll use ADM6996 tool with hope to solve It, but if not possible, I want to disable the first lan port and off It's led.

Re: DSLG624T: ethernet problems
After logging in to the router via telnet (or ssh) run these
Code: Select all
cd /var/
wget https://www.routertech.org/download/file.php?id=1484 -O adm6996-tool.gz
gunzip adm6996-tool.gz
chmod a+x ./adm6996-tool
./adm6996-tool
