Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion

Post by Pondera » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:31 am

Updated via browser configuration D-Link DSL-300T to RouterTech 2.92 from both 2 source firmwares without problems!
In your Compatible Routers list DSL-300T is missing...
ADAM2-based (AR7RD) – note that the LEDs may not work correctly

* Dlink DSL-302T

* Dlink DSL-500T

* Dlink DSL-502T

* Dlink DSL-504T

* Dlink DSL-524T
It takes a very long time to display "Product Information" section...
In "RT Configuration" section the LED list is too long to display it correctly...

Thanks. The 300T is listed on the RouterTech Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RouterTech ;) It will be added to the list for the next firmware.

With regard to the LED list, surely the page can scroll sideways?

It should not take a long time to display the product information page. Something must be timing out. Did you reset to defaults after upgrading? If so, perhaps you may wish to look in the system log to see what is timing out.

Of course! And also defragmented env...

This has been known to happen with 1-port routers that don't have an external USB connection, but may have something internally. Please post your environment.

usb_vid 0x0451
usb_pid 0x6060
I think this is the problem. You should set both of them to 0x0.

No change with those values. Even without the two variables...

I have tried a 320T, and I can't reproduce the problem (with no USB port). Perhaps you might want to look inside the router to see whether there isn't some usb circuitry lurking around in there? Clearly, something is telling the core logic that there is a USB port.

I don't really understand...
These are the problem, as you said:
usb_vid 0x0451
usb_pid 0x6060
HWA_RNDIS 00:E0:A6:xx:xx:xx <--- covered
HWA_HRNDIS 00:E0:A6:xx:xx:xx <--- covered
I find these variables ONLY in /proc/sys/dev/adam2/environment but they are not present in /proc/ticfg/env. And also unsetenv seems doesn't work both in Telnet mode and in RT Run Command section...
Maybe something went wrong with the update, or reset or defragmentation...

Did you defragment the environment?

The "real" Adam2 environment is in "/proc/sys/dev/adam2/environment". That is what the RT "setenv" and "printenv" commands interface to. If you have RT firmwares, then you should use those commands. With an Adam2 router, if you write to /proc/ticfg/env manually, then the outcome is unpredictable. So, I would recommend doing this, from a telnet/ssh login prompt

Code: Select all

setenv usb_pid 0x0
setenv usb_vid 0x0
By the way, what firmware version are you using? If you are using RT v2.91.1 or later, then you should not be running the defrag tool on the RT forum. You should rather be using the built-in defrag functionality.

It doesn't work: the variables values remain unchanged!

If you are using v2.92, then you should not be running the defrag tool that is available for download.

What happens when you run "auto_defragenv.sh" ?

Edit: please post the system diagnostics.
