this router is very good but it has not a firewall built-in?is there anyway to overcome this?is there any firmware to add this option..i tried installing new firmware from repotek called RP-IP1800v3 but it has not this option too...the router is conexant based so can i use other versions of conexant firmware made for other brands?

Try the JMK firmware from viewtopic.php?t=33 this has SPI firewall and should be okay in your router. Be sure to read the whole thread should the flash go wrong and you need to rescue the router.

I think the Firmware will work like it worked on my router ..as long as it's conexant based with CX82310 ADSL chip ..
