Re: AR7 problem with UK ADSL2+
Thanks again for the replies. I've tried various environment variables, and also starting again after resetting to default, and the result is the same. In fact I failed to connect at all after about 15 minutes of trying different things. To reply to this post I re-attached the ADSL cable to my Netge...

Re: AR7 problem with UK ADSL2+
Thanks for the replies. @thechief I didn't find any improvement by specifying the mode. The only mode which worked (this is from memory) was ADSL_2plus. @mstombs I'm not sure what you're saying except that your AR7 modem is connecting fine. I don't know what your hardware or settings are (except thi...

AR7 problem with UK ADSL2+
I've been using RouterTech on Pluscom ARW-7200 (AR7WRD board, wireless, 4 port) for about two and a half years, currently on firmware 2.97. It has been brilliant until my ISP (was Tiscali, now is TalkTalk) upgraded my service to ADSL2+ at which point I ran into difficulties making the PPPoA connecti...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
I just upgraded my Pluscom AWR7200 to 2.97 and there were no problems. I've only been running it an hour or so but I noticed a small improvement, which is that I didn't need to set an environment variable "setenv vlynq_polarity high" to have the wireless work. Thanks to everyone at RT for continuing...

Re: Pluscom ARW-7200 - very good with RouterTech
I find that the cheaper the hardware the braver I am and I didn't break anything this way....yet. Plenty of good docs and tools is a big help. I found that I was mistaken about it being identical to Safecom SWART2-54125. The specs online suggest it's identical but the ebay shop selling the Pluscom s...

Pluscom ARW-7200 - very good with RouterTech
My D-Link DSL-G624T died (and good riddance) so for a few months I've been cursed with the even worse Siemens Gigaset SE587 (Conexant, supplied & rebranded by Tiscali with their own heavily restricted web admin which means using telnet to do anything useful.....Conexant with telnet isn't much fun). ...

Re: Firmware for DSL-G624T
I have a DSL-G624T and just put the latest RouterTech firmware on it this morning. I've only explored it a little so far (configured but not yet connected the ADSL) but I did check some of the LAN features as I'd seen mentions of the switching being an issue, here and with OpenWRT and other similar ...
