We're all lazy admins Jim!

Agreed mstombs, and indeed, I have it active on my router, but I don't personally use it.

there's no real need for uPnP anyway, it's just for lazy admins, and those who are really non technical, it's only used by a few applications and then only for file transfers (i.e. msn) etc.

Most people are capable of forwarding the correct ports.

I'd also bear in mind that, when you get upgraded to Max, the SnR margins, and attenuation levels will alter radically. If you're on a pipex internet connection or a pipex operated company (i.e. F2S) their DSLAMs/COs are Globespan, BTs are mostly Alcatel though I believe they are installing more of ...

Oh well done guys.

I might have to invest in one of these routers to replace my elderly ASR-8400 (Silver Ed.)!

I've had not too many problems with torrents. I tend to use my Linux server with btdownloadcurses (bittornado command line ver.) to torrent. It uses ports 10000+, i forward 100 ports, and tell bt not to use random ports. I'm on F2S Connect MAX, which is 8mbit, torrents can be as quick as 400Kb/s but...

VPN into your office network then use their connection proxied through the VPN connection.

I'd use SSH and a browser that supports SOCKS proxying.

Either that or get your friends and your friends friends and your friends friends friends -- imagine i went up to 6 levels of friends friends -- to view it.

Then that's 6^6 = 46656 people

The only things that will boost your signal are as follows: 1. Moving the AP, siting the AP away from concrete walls. Wireless signals do not pass through concrete all that well, and the metal in them can also hinder signal. 2. Better/Bigger aerials (and for God's sake spell 'aerial' right all of yo...

quite! What you seem to be proposing is a rather superfluous thing, adding phantom visitors to your website is a pointless act.

It may make you feel gd, but doesn't actually make your site any more popular or affect your google ranking for instance.

Firmware Reliability

I never had a problem with Billion b213/b300c on my Origo ASR-8100, but when I was running it on my Origo ASR-8400 (mit the 4 port switchy switch) it was fairly flaky and crashed twice a week at least. I eventually got JMK running on it, after thinking that the firmware hadn't taken because it didn'...
