Re: A reboot broke my DSL605EW?
Fragmentation now down to 1 (out of 70 records) but the freezing on boot is still there. I also noticed that just switching it off and on did nothing, but switching it off, unplugging it, pressing the power switch on and off, then plugging it in and switching it back on worked. So it looks like a ne...

Re: A reboot broke my DSL605EW?
Thanks for correcting me. I popped it open and there are a few bulged capacitors, but none have leaked or popped (yet). Not sure if them just being bulged will do anything, I'm no expert in electronics. I'm going to give defragging the environment a try and see if that helps. Funny, after opening it...

A reboot broke my DSL605EW?
On Sunday I rebooted my router because I was having some connection issues. Before I rebooted I noted it had stayed up for 386 hours straight - the longest I've ever seen it stay up for. WAN connection was up for that long too, even more impressive given the state of telecoms in South Africa. Now, t...

Re: Strange lights on my Aztech DSL605EW
Yes, I literally put the PCB in the oven for 7 minutes at 180 degrees. It is usually done on electronics that have damaged solder somewhere on their pcb causing them to malfunction, and like I said before it's worked wonders on many graphics cards and motherboards. There are some videos on youtube i...

Re: Strange lights on my Aztech DSL605EW
Well considering my only option is pretty much to bin it, since there's no chance of replacing this chip (no skill + can't buy these sort of things in South Africa) I'm going to try baking it. I've read about graphics cards and motherboards coming back to life by it, so I figure I have nothing more ...

Strange lights on my Aztech DSL605EW
Last night there was a storm that seems to have done something to the router. When you switch it on, the power light is red, lan port 1's led is green, and the wifi light flashes for a few seconds and then switches off and stays off. I opened the box up and had a look around and everything looks fin...

Re: IPv6
I see. If I set up a DHCP6 server on a linux box on the local network will it conflict with the router's DHCP?

IPv6
Is there any chance of a dhcp6 daemon/server being implemented? I know most of the world doesn't even use IPv6 for internet but it might be useful for windows 7 boxes that use homegroup and such over a local network.

Re: Semi-bricked router
I fixed it! I'm still not entirely sure how - but it's working. Steps I took: [*]Download and flash the firmware found here via PC tool [*]Use router repair tool to "repair" my mtd3 partition with a backup from RUC when I first put the RouterTech firmware on [*]This cleaned my environment up nicely ...
