Re: Weird Regular (as clockwork) Router disconnect problem

Just an update. I have managed to fix the periodic disconnection problem by moving the router closer to the BT main socket and using a much shorter cable between the router and the main socket. The router itself still suffers occasional slow downs and needs to be powered off every few days. I don't ...

Re: Weird Regular (as clockwork) Router disconnect problem

It seems odd that it's so regular, and yet not entirely regular.

Like it caused by a fairly habitual person turning their microwave on or something?

I'll monitor the situation for a while with Router Stats logger.

Many thanks :)

Re: Weird Regular (as clockwork) Router disconnect problem

Thanks for the suggestion re: Route stats logger, will check that out. And thanks for your time and assistance. Don't worry, unless I missed some the IP addresses are anonymised :) ie not the real ip's If I may, I am wondering if it might be worth investing in a Billion BiPAC 7800DXL router http://w...

Re: Weird Regular (as clockwork) Router disconnect problem

Apologies. I didn't realise that diagnostic takes a while to run and I took a long pause to mean it was completed. This is the output immediately following Network Statistics. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Active Internet connections (servers and establ...

Weird Regular (as clockwork) Router disconnect problem

Hi, I'm having a problem with my broadband that may or may not be related to the Routertech firmware (I'm on 2.96) but it's weird and potentially interesting and since you guys are experts, I thought I'd ask. My broadband disconnects at regular(ish) times throughout the day. I've been onto my ISP an...

Re: No wireless with routertech firmware on GWART

I re-updated with the correct image and the wireless worked immediately :)

>As usual, user error.

 so sorry to have wasted your time.

worth mentioning, the new UI is a big improvement over the original Safecom version.

Many thanks for your help.

Re: No wireless with routertech firmware on GWART

There is no Wireless menu ! I have accessed the Wireless set up pages via a link in the upgrade documentation but they come up blank. ie in upgrade.html 1. The wireless access point (AP) in the AR7WRD wireless firmwares is now disabled by default. This means that you need to enable it manually in th...

Re: No wireless with routertech firmware on GWART

OK, I will check that but the wireless was working immediately before the upgrade and then wasn't working immediately after. I didn't physically move or touch the router during the process so it seems unlikely that it would choose those exact few minutes to come loose or whatever? I may be missing s...

Re: No wireless with routertech firmware on GWART

Yes.

Confession. I did initially omit to reset to defaults *after* the upgrade, so when the wireless wasn't working I double checked the instructions, spotted my mistake and did the second reset to default then (and then re-reconfigured the various settings).

Re: No wireless with routertech firmware on GWART

Hi, I have the same problem with this router. I run the RUC tool before upgrading which didn't report any problems. It detected the wireless chip as a TNETW1130. RUC recommended the routertech-ar7wrd-pspboot-firmware-4ports-20120130.zip and I installed the 4MB flash version. The upgrade worked brill...
