I have my pc connected to the Plusnet Hub 1(basically a BT hub 5) using an ethernet cable and get and unstable internet connection, as in it works but then drops. I have disabled the I cannot connect to wifi at all it sees it but won't connect.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me how to disable the DHCP? I don't see anything in the settings to do this. Also when connecting them both by ethernet cable where do I plug it into on the Plusnet Hub 1? The VDSL port or just an normal Ethernet port?

You might want to try your neighbour's router on your line. If you still get low speeds with that one, then the problem would most likely be with your line itself. running speed tests at both properties using relevant Technicolor routers are both giving fairly similar speed test results. Not quite sure what that really means. More margin? I quite often download large files and video so would have thought that faster speeds would be an advantage.
