Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

By the way, with older RT I am sure it was possible to connect and negoziate 54mbit. I saw it when I shared my flat with other people and internet too. Well, nothing has changed at the wireless driver level for the past 4 years at least - so I am unable to understand why there should be a differenc...

Ok, I'll install the d-link firmware and find what u asked for (if there is, not sure... never used with original software).

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

Well, there is no reason that I know of why there should be a wireless problem, and nothing you've said so far has given any clues as to what the problem might be. But if you are comparing Dlink to RouterTech, then everything needs to be the same - same wifi channel, same encryption, etc. yes, ever...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

If Dlink works better for you, then use Dlink. I thought it could be interesting for u to investigate the problem, I don't like dlink firmware, it is several years that I use the routertech and I was interested in using it. DSL speed is not a big problem, although it is 1mbit less, the main issue i...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

Sorry for posting again... I did all my investigations and I'm a bit shocked: d-link original firmware, DSP 7.0 = DSL Speed 639/8139kbps (SNR 9dB) fast path, transfer speed from the AP 3 MB/sec maximum. RT 2.95 and 2.96, DSP 7.0A = DSL 639/7243kbps (SNR 12dB) Interleaved (my line is fast path), tran...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

So, it is not an hardware failure at all. With the d-link firmware I'm doing the same file move and the speed is 2,8MB/sec !!! Same configuration: no security but access controll via mac address, channel 1. 712KB/sec (max 1MB/sec) with RT and 2,8MB/sec with d-link firmware. I don't know what to say,...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

So my guess is that either your wifi card is dying wifi card into the router? I have another d-link with problem to capacitors, i can swap them and give a try. Do u know how to remove the card? I tried time ago when I opened the broken one without success... or you have congestion on the channel yo...

Post the System Diagnostics. Ok! Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion

For the speed issue: I tried with a Fonera with DD-WRT over my d-link with routertech. Same file, same "from" and same "to" computers. Using the Fonera wifi I get 2MB/sec, passing to RT (with the file still copying) 512-712KB/sec, reverse to FONERA again 2MB/sec. I underline again that I didn't clos...
