Re: Linksys WAG200G and RouterTech Firmware

I'm unable to find the 'wholeflash.bin' for the WAG200G. Someone please help! All SF.net links redirect to this page. Learn to use the internet archives and waybackmachine etc! There is currently a mirror of the old wag200 project files here:- http://download2.polytechnic.edu.na/pub4/sourceforge/o/...

Re: New Netgear R6300 V2 or Asus rt ac66-88U ?

There was a press release in the tech news from a recent big show http://standards.ieee.org/news/2014/ieee_802_11ac_ballot.html I don't have any ac devices, but I advise taking any wireless speed specs with a healthy pinch of salt. I don't see how a wireless link can be faster than a short sata cabl...

Re: New Netgear R6300 V2 or Asus rt ac66-88U ?

No direct experience of either, they are too expensive for me to mess around with with but I note Asus seem good recently with releasing their GPL sourcecode, so there is already 3rd party enhanced firmware for some variants http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=7846 But didn't I just s...

Re: bricked DSL-G624T

I think Alex K, UK but active on those Aus forums has a copy of latest DLink firmware on his site

Small downloads are free, but contribution required for larger.

Re: AR7 with Intel flash - bootloader needed

I guess that JTAG software is the same as in this thread https://www.routertech.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3732 I have never used in in wiggler mode (but original tjtag supported that). I'd be interested to know the original size of bootloader and flash organisation, it is possible the minimum writabl...

Re: Compromised Linksys Smart WiFi EA3500 - using MAC filter

I don't know this router or the Linksys UI - but it is not unusual for an Ethernet router to have entries in the arp table for a cable modem and ISP Gateway - these may appear in the device list but are on the WAN port not the LAN.

Re: Netgear WNDR3700

5GHz band is still relatively new and there are regular updates to PC drivers/router firmwares to fix inter-operability issues ie Intel adaptor vs Broadcom router, if using same SSID you may have to tell the PC to 'forget' the config so it can be redone. If you do look to update the router (definite...

Are you sure you loaded a firmware with "AR7WRD" in the filename?

Re: DNS Proxy

Your PC will use what you have configured. It is possible to add an iptables rule on the router to 'intercept' all dns requests from the lan Tomato (on a supported Broadcom Ethernet router has a web gui checkbox for this), dd-wrt wiki lists suitable iptables commands :- http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/in...

Re: Needing a new router ! requesting help.

With many users on a slow internet connection you need the router to dod some form of traffic control or QOS. If this is not available in factory firmware there may be an option of dd-wrt that would work, but watc out many hardware versions and firmware options to chose from!

Re: Router delay to connect to the internet

There is something strange in the env re multiple connection entries, but I suspect an issue is the "autopvc_enable=1", if you know the settings for your ISP would be worth making sure you have one and only one connection defined in the web gui with the correct parameters, and try changing that auto...
