The telnet username is usually "root" so try that with the various passwords ;)

BTW when I say WEB I mean the Wireless Env Builder ;) If the Wireless Env Builder can't get the details from your router, you can get the MAC address from your env which you backed up with the RUC and you can get the TNETW ID from your router's system log (as mentioned on the forum here https://www....

Well, as mentioned in the readme, have you tried using the WEB to get your MAC and TNETWID from the router?
You should be able to get them from the router as long as the router is not bricked - a corrupt wireless environment shouldn't prevent the WEB from getting the values (that's the whole point).

This is what I did with a problematic wireless Adam2 router: 1. Used the RRT to connect to the bootloader. 2. Used the RRT to set the MTDs for the firmware I wanted to upload. 3. Then used PCTool 2.1 to send the firmware file. It takes a while and it eventually crashed when it finished sending the f...

Can u explain what u have done about QOS ?? THanks See the 'Changelog' ;) I have written (in italian) a guide, in which explain how to upgrade D-Link DSL-5x4T/g6x4T to routertech firmware 2.8. That's great - it will certainly help owners of Dlink routers :) I've seen other upgrade instructions on y...

My Sphairon AR860E1-B Modem/Router seems to have a shed environment. The ps command doesn't exist (at least not in the bin and sbin folder, and "ls -R" for a recursive listing of subdirectories doesn't work). The lack of a shell environment will make it impossible for the RUC to work with your curr...

Ah, you didn't mention you were running Vista. So, you have definitely run the vista-telnet-fix.bat file, rebooted and run the RUC in Windows XP compatibility mode? And you have all the dependency files (VB runtime and ws2_32.dll)?

I though the main thing about ROHS was the removal of lead solder Well, specifically the removal of lead from solder by using a lead-free replacement and a general effort to reduce harmful chemicals in electronics ;) I did mention back in April that it might not be a good idea to use the "ROHS" ter...

Hi Phant, To find out the correct http daemon name, you will need to log in via telnet and then run the command: ps You should see a list of the processes running on the router. The http daemon will have "httpd" as part of the name. For example: 1 root 1020 S init 2 root 0 SW [keventd] 3 root 0 SWN ...

Neo, I understand what you suggested but like I stated above, if one is not able to get a good mtd3 dump from the start, how would one go with the repair mtd3 option? It asks for a good mtd3 file, right? If you have a suitable/good env file, you could try using any MTD3 file of the correct size, bu...

Thanks for the feedback. - The Tool appears to be missing the "defragenv" command that I was expecting to be there, since it loads the bootloader. - It somehow does not know at times that "it is" connected to the bootloader and won't execute some commands. Well the 'defragenv' command name is specif...
