Have you tried turning off your firewall temporally, and then try YouTube?

Re: Want a router that allows time limits
Hi,
Asus have parent controls in there routers. I use the RT-N66U. It's one of there older routers now, but still supported by Asus and third party firmware is available. I use Asuswrt-Merlin firmware which knocks the socks off stock firmware

Re: Asus RT N66U weird disconnects
Very odd that it's only YouTube that disconnects. I assume your connecting to the router by wireless? If so, do you connect with on the 5GHz or the 2.4GHz frequency? Try changing from which ever you’re using to the other and see if that makes a difference. You could also try putting a manual channel...

Re: Asus RT N66U weird disconnects
Hi, welcome to the forum. Have you done the basics? Reset the router to factory settings, and re enter your settings manually. Are you on the latest firmware? Also when you install the firmware its best practice to reset the router after the upgrade and again manually entering your settings. Firmwar...

Hi, If the wireless doesn't, start up after a reeboot, try a factory reset. If it still doesnt work, then yes I would say something has burnt out inside.

Indeed the DSL-AC68U is a little over kill if you are just going to use it for every day stuff.
Are you on ADSL or VDSL?

Re: Best way forward
Hi, welcome to the forum,
Personally I would use the Netgear. I have never had very good experience with BT Hubs.
Try both see which one works best for you. I would try one for a week, then the other and see if one behaves better than the other.

Re: TP-Link
Indeed, ASUS model numbers are very tricky, slight difference in the numbers but toataly different models
Re: TP-Link
BT Hubs are locked to user accounts, they can be used but the OP might not want the hastle? http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/networks/8046/how-to-use-the-bt-home-hub-5-with-another-isp I have a ASUS RT-N66U And its rock solid, I use custom firmware (Asuswrt-Merlin) But this router needs a seperate mod...
Re: TP-Link
BT Fibre modems are ready avalable on ebay. So the OP has the choice of getting a combined unit, which there are very few, or getting a modem and a router of his choice.
But if he hasn't gone a master socket like the one I posted then he may be stuck with what he's got.

Re: TP-Link
Does the socket look like this?
Re: TP-Link
OK, not being familiar with Sky, it looks like that is an ADSL router, that can connect to a fibre modem.
Do you have a modem that that hub connects to?
