Well, for the time being I've just set all the router log levels to "Panic", which hardly ever happens. This way I have my logs empty.thechief wrote:I am not aware of any way of doing so.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion
Can the system log be completely disabled? I don't want to keep any tracks of router's actions whatsoever. In dd-wrt syslogd can be turned off. I suspect this is not a well documented part of Routertech firmware. Thanks for the answer

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.96 Discussion
Everything OK here, updated Well PTI-845 to 2.96 version. Telnet sessions seem to be processed slightly nimbler. Thanks, guys. Btw: Why is there in the system branch an option to shutdown the router? When I want to shut it down, I just pull the plug from the outlet, and it has always worked fine. I ...

Re: New Firmware: v quick but too unstable
DS Margin: 2 In my country this value is considered to be very low. Running at this high speed generates a lot of noise in your wiring. In other words, your ADSL line is probably not in a condition good enough to run at this speed. Select the modulation called G.dmt.bis. That should help, because i...

Just disable UPnP and you will be back on track. Now I have 7-day-uptime and still holding, full access to 19...

Underclocking the CPU
Hello, is there any way about underclocking the router's CPU? I'd like to underclock it to approx. 120 MHz, because my router runs quite hot. The router is idle most of the time anyway. The router runs routertech fw 2.94 (the PSPboot version).

Yes, you are possibly right. I see now that I've enabled "Enforce MTU" in a setup dialog. I haven't used this function before.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
I've encountered a strange problem recently. When I've updated the firmware from 2.93 to 2.94 via Web Interface (Update Gateway), I've not been able to visit for example microsoft.com. I've had to update from the bootloader via pc-tool and after that router works seamlessly. (Of course I rebooted to...

Because I didn't want to put in the values by the hand, and Router Repair Tool was running, so I used itthechief wrote:Congratulations! I am puzzled though, as to why you needed a tool to calculate the mtd values. They are already in the firmware distribution files (routertech_firmware_20100408_mtd_logs.zip).

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Phew, it was one hell of a job. I tried flashing with the newest Router Repair Tool, it somehow trashed my mtd0 and mtd4 partitions. So I used this tool co calculate new values. It worked, I flashed a working firmware and modified the bootloader. I was successful only with PC-Tool 2.3, other tools e...

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Hm, but I'm sure I put the 4mb firmware in my router. Today I repeated the process of flashing via Web GUI and nothing happened. A nice progressbar reached 100%, I rebooted the router and there was still the lite firmware. I'm sure I saw similar topic here on the forum, so after I manage to install ...

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
You should be able to login via telnet. If you can't, then you have a serious fault with your firmware. I can use telnet, although I am not sure if telnet in Windows 2000 is enough. It just reminds me that 'scp' command hasn't been found. And I have a full 4MB firmware (on D-link DSL-584T), System ...

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
5. I transferred the new PSP bootloader binary (psbl_4M_16M_AMD_AR7RD.bin) to the router's /var/ directory, with WinSCP How have you been able to do that, Thechief? I cannot log on to my router otherwise than via HTTP. I even checked the Access Control, everything is in the default state here. When...
