Is you DHCP address space large enough for the number of devices that you have? Also make sure that if you manually set any IP addresses rather than use DHCP you use IPs that are outside your DHCP range otherwise you can end up with conflicts when DHCP allocates an address that you have already manu...

You'd need a copy of pptp-client which was compiled for the router (or compile one yourself) and then configure it to connect to your VPN and also configure routing rules to direct traffic destined for your restricted service to go via the ppp connection established. As a general observation I can heartily recommend open DNS. Allows you to customise most aspects of your name resolution experience and if you have a home VPN you can carry this experience with you on the move
