Re: TP-Link
You need a broadband router, this explains a little: http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/default_ShopGroup.asp?ShopGroupID=163 Take your pick which router you want. If your Sky router doesn't have a seperate modem, then you will need to get one of those as well. There are a few Modem Routers out there l...
Re: TP-Link
Hi welcome to the forum, The router model you quote is an ADSL router, you say your on sky fibre, an ADSL router will not work on fibre. You need to look for routers for cable and fibre. Look somewhere like here: http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopSearch.asp?CategoryID=2&Sort=1 Be aware some b...

Re: Netgear DG834GV v2 not cutting the mustard
I would do a reset, and don't put any custom settings in until you see how the router performs. If it is still no better then you might want to think about setting up QOS to spread the bandwidth to who ever you want to have priority. The router wont spread the bandwidth evenly it will just give the ...

Re: Netgear DG834GV v2 not cutting the mustard
Hi, has this just stated happening, or has it always been like it?
Have you put and bandwidth control settings into the router?
Good place to start would be to do a factory reset, and see how it goes then, without putting any custom setting in the router.

Re: Recommendations for replacing router please
I have been using an ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router, since going onto fibre early this year. I can certainly recommend the hardware. On day 2 of owning the router I Upgraded to Merlin’s firmware, and have never looked back, he really gives great support, and does a really good j...

Yes. Look for QOS in your router admin. Set your pc to a high priority, and his to a lower one.

Yes you can change your password.
You do it in the user control panel (User CP) under profile.

Re: Router Laggy Like Anything! PLEASE HELP!
Sorry I am not familiar with your router. I had a look for the manual for your router but the link was dead! However it may be helpful to have a look on their forum as there do seem to be problems with the wireless. This is the first thread I came across, I would suggest having a good look around :w...

Re: Router Laggy Like Anything! PLEASE HELP!
Indeed your setup should be fine, and as you said your lag started when you got the new router.
See if the QOS helps, Also see if there is any newer firmware available from the manufactures.

Re: Router Laggy Like Anything! PLEASE HELP!
How are you connecting to the router? When gaming you should always connect via Ethernet cable. Check things like QOS, this can have a dramatic effect on pings in games. If QOS is on then turn it off for testing purposes. Have you done a speed test to make sure you connection is OK?

Re: Why router has 3 IP addresses?
It looks like you are looking at the router address as 192.168.0.1 and your PC is 192.168.0.4. The IP address your ISP will issue you (which will be seen on the net) will not be in the same range at all.
