SAR600EW Wireless Quality

I never seem to run out of problems do I? My SAR600EW is now not performing too well with the wireless and I can't find why but suspect that this could be yet another router I need to replace due to failing wireless hardware. Pings to the router C:\>ping 192.168.1.1 -t Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 by...

I have a SAR600EW and used the firmware RouterTech_3.6.0D_20080331_2.50_AR7WRD_Adam2_firmware.upgrade.img The following was the output from the mtd calculator for me using the same flashsize as I see in your env and the firmware above. Single images: mtd0: 0x90094000, 0x903F0000 mtd1: 0x90010090, 0x...

2. What was your router's firmware version before upgrading: 43.35 Really? Your environment has several settings that are RouterTech specific (memchk.sh, checksync.sh, cron_la.sh) :? 4. What was the specific RouterTech firmware file that you tried to upgrade to: aztech latest ver 99.53.1 That's not...

I still don't see any mac addresses :? If you do have them better not to post the values anyway as they are specific to you. Here is an example of the environment from my poor now dead DLink 604T. I've left the mac addresses in as it's not in use. memsize 0x01000000 flashsize 0x00400000 modetty0 384...

Is that all there is? If so then it looks like something has removed entries (or the env is corrupted). Try getting the mtd calculator from https://www.routertech.org/viewtopic.php?t=2018 and using it to work out what the mtd values should be for your router based on the firmware that you want to up...

An interesting read. If I tried that in my work I would very quickly find I had plenty of time to browse the internet from home :D

On the left hand side of PCtool, select 'Environment Space' and click upload. Hence the wording of my post.

It would be interesting to see some/all of the variables in there.

welcome on board. I would certainly think the wiring isn't helping  It all sounds a bit odd, there should be a master socket that is that point of ownership change from BT to you. Playing with the wiring without being sure is asking for trouble if you end up needing to get BT involved, but th...

From the PCTool screen error it looks like your environment has a problem. Can you 'upload' the environment space and post a screenshot of it?

Congratulations! I bow to a brave man :notworthy: For the variables that you've left out you might want to think about adding some of them back in just in case, although they may not be too relevant for you. IPA variables define the IP address that you connect to if using PCTool to recover for examp...

Given my experiences I would think that with no physical access you will have to have the luck of the gods to pull this recovery off. You're brave if you try it. As for the environment above I would say that the mtd1 and mtd4 values higher up are not recognised by the router as I think the formattin...

Looks like the same issue I had. The key was finding someone with the same machine to get a good mtd3 image from (thechief had one for the SAR600ew). To get it on to the router I uploaded the image to my hosting space on the internet and then used 'wget' from the router to download it to the \var sp...
