Re: dropbear bad password attempt for 'root' from <IP>

As expected: After doing a "disconnect" followed by a "connect" (from Setup -> connection-name under "WAN setup"), PPPoE is properly recycled, and the iptables "DROP all" INPUT rule is automagically created. Apr 8 00:21:48 cfgmgr(pppoe-107): PPPoE Apply Transaction Apr 8 00:21:48 cfgmgr(pppoe-107):...

Re: dropbear bad password attempt for 'root' from <IP>

Well, the firmware comes with all WAN access blocked by default. Resetting to defaults will restore all those settings. I just noticed the same problem, latest firmware as of date (2.95), which was reset to defaults before and after the update. From looking at iptables rules, it doesn't seem like a...

Re: PPPoE fix by changing DSL MAC

I have attached a script which tries to do this. Can you please report whether it works or whether it needs tweaking? Thanks. Works well. Note: I commented out the following lines ust cuz I don't need them: 70: setenv "macc_old" "$ODM" 75-76: setenv "macc" "$MAC" setenv "PPPOE_DSL_MAC" "$MAC" /var ...

Re: PPPoE fix by changing DSL MAC

The default "00:00:02:03:04:05" comes from tiatm.o - specifically tn7atm.c mine was 01:e0:03:xx:xx:xx clearly different from what you noted. and HWA_3 env-var was the same w/ the original dlink fw (2006), before I flashed it with RT2.92 over a year ago. I still have RUC output from that time. I sus...

Re: DSL-2640T updated like a charm

Thanks for the answers. I've been mentioning in a few places here the HW and original FW version (both on back of router), like V3.02 B01 T01. EU-A .20060602; the B01 is for HW ver. B1, apparently, and there are others like B3, and B5, and there's ME-A, AU-A, etc. Pondera also mentioned in one post ...

Re: DSL-2640T updated like a charm

2. Why does mtd4 (and subsequently mtd0) end at 3e0000 and not 400000? Better ask Dlink! As far as I am aware, they are the only ones who do this. Why is there 128kb at the end of the flash unused? is it used as a "secret" backup of the bootloader (mtd2 = 64kb) + config (mtd3 = 64kb) or something ?...

Re: OpenWRT AR7 platform

lol @ "downloads half the internet" btw, i did include a URL of AR7 builds which Simon kindly made for others wanting to test. It's not the most bleeding edge, but it's quite recent: in #8525, florian says that this (problems with 88e6060) should be now be fixed with r25675 [ar7] switch to 2.6.37.1 ...

Re: OpenWRT AR7 platform

A lot of what I mentioned is already implemented in Gargoyle. I actually gave it a dry-run from memdisk just to see how it looks live (though haven't yet actually tried building it for AR7 / testing its actual functionalities). Would love to see this (or similar) in Routertech. This could easily tu...

PPPoE fix by changing DSL MAC

I have a DSL-2640T which I had been previously running RT 2.92 on, and recently updated to 2.95 (routertech-ar7wrd-1350A-pspboot-firmware-20110103) - click link for details on hw/fw versions prior to flashing with RT 2.92 I know the router is not officially supported by RT firmware (due to the ADM69...

Re: DSL-2640T

I have a DSL-2640T which I had been running RT 2.92 on for a while, and recently updated to 2.95 without a problem. Info on the router and original firmware prior to going to RT 2.92 (and later 2.95) h/w ver : B1 f/w ver : v3.02B01T01.EU-A.20060602 (the oldest original FW afaik) I have many posts on...

Re: DLink DSL-2640t bricked and recovered...

is the "L" anything like the "M" that is used in 2640T? I'm not an expert on the topic, so probably not the best to ask. But will tell you what I know so far from general research I did earlier: The Samurai product family consists of four six-port controllers: ADM6996LC, ADM6996FC, ADM6996I, ADM699...

Re: DLink DSL-2640t bricked and recovered...

is there any hope, that someone will fix/add the necessary SWITCH driver (or perhaps some work-around which we can do thru telnet/ssh) to the routerTech firmware, for D-Link's modems like 584/G684 and many others D-Link's modems/routers ? Since there are one or two DLink routers that have this swit...
