Re: G604T Issues
Same problem with my 624T. It was not in the past... i don't use torrent so much and i didn't realize since this problem started. I'm pretty sure that with an old firmware the problem will be fixed as it was. The more update this firmware has, the more problem i'm getting :( Till 2.91.1 only torrent...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
@thechief: I switched to the new internet provider with a new and faster connection. I even switched from interleaved to fastpath. I'll test the dsl driver (7.3 and 7.5) for some time to see if something is different, maybe it will not kill my router as before. If not, I will try with what you sent ...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
You can try emailing the system log to yourself using sendmail - but that only works if your smtp server doesn't require authentication before sending out emails. my smtp dosn't neet it, no problem... write me what i must do and i will do it. One thing we have overlooked is overheating. The later D...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
If you're not doing p2p and it is still crashing, then something else is going on. Since we can't reproduce the problem, I doubt that we can fix it. there is a way to have a log, or something like that, that can help you to understand what it is going on into my router? Let's hope the problem is on...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
Changing the dsp to 73A didn't fix the problem... I guess it is not a low memory problem and not a p2p problem (I closed emule) and the same: WAN time of 70 hours (more or less) and my router goes in coma.
I will revert to 2.9.1 until the new adsl will arrive

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
Indeed. But it should be able to recover from any connection errors. By the way, enabling checksync would probably be a better option - it would restart pppd when it finds that the WAN connection has gone down, and, if that doesn't work, will restart the router. Yes, it recovers, but lost the trans...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
Well, if all else fails, you could always set up a cron job to restart the router every 48 hours or so (perhaps at some ungodly hour like 3.00am, when no-one is going to use be using it). well... you know... emule doesn't like something like this  I will return to 2.9.1, I think it is the ...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
This morning I found the router in coma again
Optimizing the ram and defrag of the env didn't help...
I changed the DSP to 73A... we will see in 60/70 hours. What a stupid problem

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
If you are using the dnsproxy that is the point... am i using it? I just wrote google's dns in the dns configuration page. That is all. There isn't a fundamental problem with dsp 7.5, mine currently records WAN Uptime: 150hr 4min 59sec ("TalkTalk") yeah... otherwise the poll in the forum to chose 7...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
The dnsproxy also changed from dproxy to dnsmasq in 2.92 Don't know how it works, sorry... I just deselect the "Use Peer DNS" option and write mine (google's dns) in DNS Configuration. Is this operation use that new dnsmasq? I'd like to find a way to check it isn't consuming all available outgoing ...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
well, since 2.92 changed the dsp and the busybox, right? Other things are just added and I'm not using them.thechief wrote:Possibly a dsp 7.5 issue?
My router shows problems after few days (50-70 hours if I'm not in mistaken), now my connection is up for 34 hours.

Let see what it will be with my fist change, then downgrading to 7.3. I'll let you know.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
In v2.91, the default dsp driver was dsp 6.2. This uses a lot less memory than 7.x, and can connect at faster speeds - but there are other trade-offs. With v2.92, the default dsp driver is dsp 7.5. This was the result of a poll and discussions on the forum. This is a big jump in memory use, but als...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
I don't think it is a memory problem. You don't seem to be running anything that should cause you to run low on memory. but i can clearly see that memory is used much more than older firmware... i never had a ram optimization before just because it was worst than doing nothing. Now I see a big diff...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.92 Discussion
I didn't see anything wrong with system diagnostics, but guess it was working fine for a couple of hours. The symptoms you give suggest the router could be running low on free ram - but looks fine at this snapshot. I had this thought yesterday before to go to sleep. So I entered in Optimization Ram...
