Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion

that's same bug i noticed although i found a way to fix it. the bug wasn't that it ignores static ip addresses, it's that the dynmatic ones get stuck/remembered. disconnect those devices, even reboot the router or power it off for 30 seconds. boot up, the dynmatic addresses assigned first time the r...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion

you using pppoe or pppoa?

pppoe uses an extra 8 bytes of packet header so 1500 would bug out and you'd actually run 1492

did you use the enforce option?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion

Typically, it will reconnect at a lower speed with better margins. Fine if you want a resync - but I don't know how to do that from source code other than to kill pppd. If you do, then I'll be glad to integrate it. just reboot like chksync does? only way i know how. without just unplugging phone co...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion

margin script. All it does from what i saw is just disconnect and reconnect ppp connection. but that's not typically what improves margins, resyncing is what makes margin jump back up by like 10 for a few hours. redoing ppp doesn't do anything constructive, at least on my connection. but if i drop b...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion

i'm still noticing that after a fresh upgrade with default settings, the router seems to be maxing the cpu out trying to connect to internet with a default connection that obvously doesn't work. It takes several minutes to enter right ISP information and connect since routers cpu is so maxed out the...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.93 Discussion

75 disconnects often but 73 didnt? that's wierd, 75 is more robust and 73 is faster. should be the oposite :o

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.93 Discussion

a 6.x driver? i don't see why going backwards would be better. There is no precise science to DSP/tiatm drivers. You have to try each of them to see which is best for your particular line. Since your line has been fixed to Fastpath mode, it may even be that 4.x or 5.x would be "better" (in fact, th...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.93 Discussion

so i can just install a non wireless 4 port firmware on it with no problems? will that get me driver 75? routertech-ar7rd-pspboot-4ports-firmware-20100408.zip ? Theoretically, yes. Just ensure that you first reset to defaults before flashing the new firmware. Is there any reason why you don't want ...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.93 Discussion

what if i dont even use the wireless, can you just install non wireless firmware Yep. i really think 75 just holds a better connection over my terrible lines. It probably would. You really should try another DSP driver on the 1350A (it's not only DSP 7.1 there, you know). hopefully you can find a w...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.93 Discussion

i'm assuming possibly cause the 1350A are more of a pain in the ass to support? Correct. what if i dont even use the wireless, can you just install non wireless firmware or is chipset still too entirely different? I switched back to the Dlink 604T, its margin is always 2 higher than solwise and atn...
