Hi, just got the email about the new v2.5 firmware; I've just ran the RUC v1.2.4 on my machine and it's given me the 20070604 firmware build; already got that one ;P. Is there an immanent RUC version for the new build? I've been away from this so long I've probably missed so much and I've forgotten ...

It would appear that a Windows Update is breaking the WZC. I have installed the Intel Wireless PRO software and I can do everything I need to, instead of using the WZC.

Very weird though!

Yep, I've tried that; no joy. I've just finished reinstalling XP; checked the wireless settings and it started working again. I did all the Windows Updates; checked again and it's stopped working. So it appears to be a Windows Update which is breaking it. I think I'll reinstall XP again, leave the w...

But is the WZC service actually started ?

EDIT; Hiya SE - Welcome Back ! :D
Yes Shoto it is a dump question ;P else I would get the WZC is currently disabled as another third party program is being used to configure the wireless connection. ;P

... And thank you :D

Windows XP WZC not working.

Hi guys, it's been awhile :D I have recently started to have a strange issue with my laptop; when I am using the Windows XP WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration), I cannot add or change the properties of any wireless networks. When I either click Add or Properties nothing happens, no popup window nothin...

I have a similar experience to this, but actually before these discs we're surposedly lost. They phoned me to inform of some offer or something, and asked me to varify who I was etc; I told them I have no idea who they are, and I will not be telling them anything; to which they said they can't conti...

My girlfriend has been having this problem for a little while now. They have two desktops in the house, and she has a laptop; her mum's computer will connect pretty much all the time, and so will the laptop, but her desktop keeps dropping out randomly. I have tried three different routers, different...

I am having a small 'issue' with my uptime sigs ... If you've not already noticed. For some reason (I think an update has caused it) the images will no longer work. I think it is down to the Mod_Rewrite in Apache. So I need to enlist the aid of a PHP bod xD Here is the .htaccess file RewriteEngine o...

Neo,

I have just downloaded v1.1.7 of the RUC and everytime I run it, it just crashes and asks if I wish to send a report to M$. I have tried it on 3 Windows XP Pro machines all with the same result.

Any ideas?

I have heard of n map, but I have never used it or read into it. Thank you for explaining it in simpleton terms :) There would of only been used ports open; such as email, web server etc. There are actually two firewalls on my network; the router, and then the server. The router did not use the defa...
