The GUI hangs more often than not even if the underlying program does not. Also I read in the first page that you were ...

Well... if see a Routertech logo then you've got Routertech's firmware. If you see a bluish web ui, then it's the 66.53.2 firmware. I'd really suggest using Routertech's firmware though. My router doesn't run as hot on Routertech's firmware as on 66.53.2. Also, if you just flashed and find messed up...

This should not happen. However, why this has not caused any problems is that the bootloader, when loaded...

Okay, routers have persistent storage devices called Flash. They can be partitioned using boot variables mtd1,mtd2,mtd3. There can be more, but I'm not sure how it works. Anyway, the presence of the mtd4 is a prerequisite of flashing using a single file image. If you have mtd4 it _should_ work. Howe...

Use PCTool 2.3. When flashing for this router, flash the file system first. Then only flash the kernel. As for the LED... basically you need to set the boot variable "led_conf" to "led.sar600". There are two ways to do this: Telnet into the router: telnet 192.168.1.1 Login. Run this command: setenv ...
