Holidays. Router on or off

Post by hansi » Mon Feb 10, 2020 4:02 pm

Hi. A newbie here. Going away for two weeks. Should I switch my Virgin Superhub off or will it stop recordings to my V6 box if I do?

Usually it is good practice to switch off electrical and electronic devices in your home that are not being used when you are away on holiday. These days however there are a number of things that need to be in use 24/7, particularly when it comes to internet connected devices - as such, the router is one of the things that is normally left on, even when away on holiday - particularly if you know for sure that internet connectivity will be required by something, like your TV recordings, a IP camera etc.

If there is no one to use, then you should switch it off.
