Why are you trying to create a VPN connection from your laptop to your router? The normal thing to do would be to connect from laptop to remote router on the Internet (pass-through) or from router to router.

Can you give more details on what you are trying to do and the hardware that you have please. Which Safecom router do you have? What OS is running on the laptop?

Have you got the certificates etc. sorted out? You will note that at one point during that setup, you have to enter a pre-shared key for server/client in the setup.

I am trying to achieve it through presharekey NOT certificate. In the router log I have noticed that there are errors saying 3DES and SHA1 matching failed etc. Any idea??

Well what with trying to use a pre-shared key and a SHA1 error I would say that the keys aren't matching between client and server when a connection is attempted.
