the connection setup it uses is as follows
****
VCI= 101
VPI= 0
DSL Connectivity Mode: RFC 1483 bridged
Protocol: IPoATM
Encapsulation: LLC -based
Modulation: G.dmt 992.5 Annex A (Annex M for Be Pro members)
No username and password are required to use Be*'s service.

You are using the wrong connection type.
From the Connection Type drop-down box, choose either Static or DHCP. Then set the "Encapsulation" to LLC and the "Mode" at the bottom to Bridge and not Routed.
I am on Be* Pro, with my RT router, I get a much higher Upload Sync @2.7Mbit (2.3 on the speedtouch), with a little lower Download sync (when compared to the speedtouch). I bridge my RT router to my Speedtouch. So I can use the RT capabilities.
