Code: Select all

BOOTCFG m:f:"mtd1"
is missing from the ENV
without it then bootloader won't know how to 'run' the firmware.
Did that via PCTOOL

and i got a 192.162.1.2 ip but could not acess the web menu on 192.162.1.1..

Trying the Dlink original firmware just to test...

Also anything else missing from the envo?

That is an IP address I have never seen before. Where did the "192.162..." come from?
ziggary wrote:Trying the Dlink original firmware just to test...
You will simply get a brick. Haven't you seen from the preceding discussion that you are just messing your router about? Your router has a psp boot loader, yet, you keep trying to flash firmwares meant for the Adam2 bootloader.

Flashing the router with Darkwolf's mod (meant for an Adam2 router) is what caused your original problems.

the modem still returns to 5.8.8.8-----------------------

Update

using 5.8.8.8 will no longer let me connect to the router to do ftp....

If PCTOOL still works use THIS firmware
routertech_ar7wrd_1350a_pspboot_firmware_20081123.zip
reboot router and see if it works (wireless will be dead)
then post the current ENV from the router.

I take it that the router is now booting up correctly. If so, then connect via telnet and run this command

Code: Select all

setenv IPA 192.168.1.1

Did the firmware boot at all ?

remove these entries ie from ftp use "quote SETENV autoload"

Code: Select all

autoload 1
autoload_timeout 7
StaticBuffer 120
LINK_TIMEOUT 15
Setup the following ENV entries

Code: Select all

Is there any reason why you have not answered our questions? Both biro and I asked you whether the router is now booting up, and you have ignored both our questions.

Biro said you should remove these. Why are you setting them again?

Sad end to a router!

Instead of putting it in the bin, send it to one of the RouterTech Team. We will fix it, and it will become one of our test routers.
