I have a Safecom SWART2-54125 which was bricked by Safecoms upgrade.
I was "rescued" by Routertech and have used the V2.5 for some time now, it has work perfectly.
Occationally I have to reboot say ever two months but that's not a problem.
My router has a USB connection. What can this be used for?
Can I connect a USB memory stick.
Can I use a USB web cam.
And details would be appreciated.

SWART2-54125 and USB usage
OK thanks
I don't really want a router, basically a small wireless linux server with a USB and some digital IO.
So in a nearby outbuilding ( within range ) I can control some relays and perhaps get some webcam pics.
I was looking at openwrt which looked promising. Some of the routers they support seem to fit the bill. Any one suggest any router or other small server ( cheap being high on the list ! ).
Thanks again

Should be possible using an older PC as a cheap headless server running something light like xubuntu. A couple of cheap NICs,switch to connect multiple IP camera's, and a wireless card or access point maybe.
This link seems to show something similar working.
Sounds like a fun project I know it's possible to do using M$ (split on floor!!) server software at considerable cost - unless you can try using the trial versions available (still??)

He ached all over. It wasn't just that his brain was writing cheques that his body couldn't cash. It had gone beyond that. Now his feet were borrowing money that his legs hadn't got, and his back muscles were looking for loose change under the sofa cushions.

Thanks I have an old Compaq which is very quite and runs Linux. It also goes in to power down and can be woken up with a magic packet.
However it's too big and has a harddrive, Fan etc.
A small router style server would be ideal.
Needs to be
Small size
12v powerd ( via mains adaptor )
Cheap
No hard drive
Usable USB port
Wireless LAN
Some digital IOs possibly bodged LEDs.
No Fan
ADSL ( maybe ).
I will find one eventually.

goes some way to meet my requirement.
Could possible get a LAN base web cam and dispense with the USB.
Thanks
