I'm using RouterTech firmware since version 2.8. The best way to determine wich firmware is suitable for your router is to run the RUC Tool. I can tell you that the 2640T has some issues, and is possible that you're going to experience problems with 3rd party firmwares.

However, I'm quite happy with mine, and there are lots of things that the D-Link firmware wouldn't dream of doing.

Read the documentation released with the RouterTech firmware and give it a go. You might be as lucky as me!

Thanks Chiefy - coffee everywhere!

I have this piece of junk.

Using RT FW 2.9, wireless doesn't work.

The AP is OK, but DHCP don't work for wireless, and static IP doesn't too.

Go figure it out.

Anyway, I'll look for some tips to see if it can work.

Sorry for the bad, BAD english.

I had tried some other tips found around in the forum.

I'll post the system diagnostics at night.

Anyway, it's only for a while. I'm going from DSL to cable.

That makes me wonder. If i would buy a router (router only HW, wired and wireless), what would you recommend?

I'm new here, but I loved the RT FW and this forum is such a great support place.

So, c ya.

For 3rd party fimware and support (not directly from here!) on an Ethernet router get one that is dd-wrt/Tomato/OpenWRT capable, such as Linksys WRT54GL (L for Linux, do not get WRT54G, unless it is WRT54G-TM!), or Asus models with USB port etc.
