There may be any number of reasons. Those custom led conf files are not necessarily going to produce the best result in every case, and may just have to live with the problem.

PS: you can try this command at a telnet/ssh login session

Code: Select all

Led status 1

thanks chief ,

i found out that the gpio for status Led is 8 from original huawei wa1003a led file
and ran the test script from viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3505 with gpio value as 8.. the led is glowing for various test parameters...

also , i am posting the original code for status led from wa1003a original firmware:
module = status # module = {adsl,usb,pppoe, status}
state = 0 # 0 = status down, 1 = status active
gpio = 8 # gpio number
mode = 0 # 0 = off,1 = on,2 = blinkoff,3 = blinkon, 4 = Flash
state = 1 # 0 = status down, 1 = status active
gpio = 8 # gpio number
mode = 1 # 0 = off,1 = on,2 = blinkoff,3 = blinkon, 4 = Flash
state = 2 # 0 = status down, 1 = status active
gpio = 8 # gpio number
mode = 4 # 0 = off,1 = on,2 = blinkoff,3 = blinkon, 4 = Flash
param1 = 500 # flash on duration in ms
param2 = 500 # flash off duration in ms
can you find any problems here...

Thanks

I have updated my firmwire but feel it takes too long to connect to internet so I decided to go back to my old/original firmwire. I follow the following guide for the entire process, and from there the restoration process is:
Restoration Process:

1.goto command mode,

2. change directory to the folder that has mtd3 and mtd4 , in my case i have those files in C:\router....

cd C:\router

3.Now , Switch off the router

In command prompt and type ftp 192.168.1.199 and keep it ready (don’t press enter yet)

· Switch on the router and exactly after 2 to 3 seconds , press enter

once loggged in to ftp service ...
NOTE : USER NAME AND PASSWORD ARE BOTH "adam2"

enter following commands sequentially.

quote SETENV mtd0,0x90091000,0x903f0000
quote SETENV mtd1,0x90010090,0x90091000
quote SETENV mtd2,0x90000000,0x90010000
quote SETENV mtd3,0x903f0000,0x90400000
quote SETENV mtd4,0x90010000,0x903f0000

quote GETENV mtd0
quote GETENV mtd1
quote GETENV mtd2
quote GETENV mtd3
quote GETENV mtd4

quote "MEDIA FLSH"
bin

put mtd4 "fs mtd4"
put mtd3 "fs mtd3"

quote REBOOT
But after I entered
put mtd4 "fs mtd4"
ftp mode exits and now my modem is totally unusable. So, can anybody guide me to how to restore back my router in working condition.

P.S. Guide I followed http://pcideas.blogspot.in/2011/12/hack ... de-to.html

Get back into ftp mode and continue from where you left off - or try using the PCTool.

Well, there is nothing that you have typed that could have killed the bootloader, so, the bootloader is probably still intact. If it is intact, then the router is recoverable. You just have to figure out how to connect to it. It is possible that the environment has been trashed, which will return the environment variables to a small group of default entries. You might need to connect to some default IP address. Connect the router to your PC, and run "ipconfig /all". This will show you which IP address Windows has assigned (you need to turn on DHCP before this).

I am attaching the "ipconfig /all" screenshot in dhcp mode for you, the router hasnot assigned any ip address to my PC. This router has a USB interface too, shall I try to connect it via USB? will it help? if so then I need some time as I have lost the USB cable, so get a cable from market and then can update again.

The "Media disconnected" message is not encouraging. It is possible that the router's ethernet port is dead. If it is, then you're out of luck. If the router was not in a bricked state, a USB connection might have been possible - but, I think the router is already in a bricked state. There is no harm trying the USB connection, but I would be surprised it it worked. Be prepared to throw the router away ...

Yes the usb port too not responding. So, I already have a backup router, so using it and the bricked one I dumped finally.. :(
