DSl-26040T (Wlan cannot set WAP, back automatically to WEP

Post by baraozemo » Sat Dec 29, 2012 3:31 pm

Hi,

I have a DSL-2640T.

I was working with the last firmware (from d-link)
DLinkEU-A_DSL-2640T_singleimage_kernel_fs_V3.02B01T01.EU-A.20091107
DSL 10 mega, ok
and Wireless, ok

I looked the topic about upgrading to "routertech firmware" and
using the "modem interface" I flashed/uploaded the firmware
routertech-rohs-ar7wrd-pspboot-firmware-20080723

and now "all" seems working fine...

So I decide to upload via modem the last routertech firmware
routertech-ar7wrd-1350A-pspboot-firmware-4ports-20120130

and now all seems working fine...
dsl and wlan working fine... leds, etc... all ok.

later (two days), I looked the log settings and see that the modem
display a ping error that cannot get some that automatically so I looked
the posting in the board saying that was necessary to "defrag" to avoid
duplicated enviroments...

Now starts my problem..
after tried to use the rctool 1.0.8 to defrag, my modem cannot connect..
I searched the board about the dsl-26040 dead router, and with pctool and rt 1.0.8
my modem revived, and I forced upload the firmware
routertech-ar7wrd-1350A-pspboot-firmware-4ports-20120130

and set the env setenv BOOTCFG m:f:"mtd1" and the modem boots..

but now I'm with a problem.
the wlan led turn on when I reboot the modem,
and when ADSL light is on, the wlan is off

I log in the modem wireless setup and enable it
and set the wireless security to "WPA".
clicked the button"apply"
clicked the button"Save All"
and Restart Access Point"

when I get back I got the "wireless" the modem
is "again" in the WEP ????? (WPA isn't settend and the WLAN light is OFF")

I tried to set WPA security to WLAN
- clicked APPLY
- clicked SAVE-ALL
- clicked Reboot Router...
and the same result, config is back to WEP.....

Here is my "diagnostics",

Connect via telnet / ssh and run the following commands

Code: Select all

fixenv
setenv NVS_TFTP_LOAD 0
/sbin/reboot
Wait for the router to reboot, and hope for the best.

Hi thechief,

I post the request in the board, but 10 minutes later I found the "Wireless Environment Builder" in the faq
and I used the tool with success and the wireless works fine now (wow...) lol

is it necessary to use the telnet script that you passed? (fixenv ...)

tks

If the environment is still fragmented (very likely) then you will eventually need to defragment it. That is what "fixenv" does.

That should have cleared up any remaining problems with environment fragmentation. To verify this, run "ver" from a telnet/ssh login prompt. In addition to other things, it will show you how much fragmentation (if any) there is.

Good. Anything less than 30 is fine.

Yes. Read the firmware FAQ.

is the syntax correctly?

in menu "System" , using "Run Command"

this will autodefrag weekly on monday at 11:00am, correctly ?
command: cronjob-env.sh 'auto_defragenv.sh' '0' '11' '*' '*' '1' 'RT_cmd_defrag'

and This will set up the router to run the memory optimiser every 6 hours
command: setenv memchk.sh "6"

Perhaps. Read up on "crontab" on the net.

Isn't there a "u" missing here?

unsetenv memchk.sh
