Conceptronic C150APRA2 unable to login

Hi,

I have 2 (yes two) ADSL router which have the same problem - I cannot login to the web interface.

When I select the user (admin) and password (admin) and click enter nothing happens.

I am able to login to FTP with the same details but cannot, for example, get a diretory listing (LS or DIR) with the result being that the response is "Directory listing has been submitted" or similar.

I cannot Telnet as it does not accept the username and passwords.

I have performed a full reset on both to no avail.

Any ideas anyone?

Is there a utility that I can use to rectify this?

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by "Did this ever work?"

Both routers were functioning - one for about a year and the other one for about 14-15 months.

Both were installed in different locations - i.e. different clients.

What I was wondering is whether anyone on this forum has experienced this type of issue?

Also, is there any generic software that may allow me to re-firmware the devices?

I will take the top off and get the chipset that is used...

Well, removing the case reveals an RTL8672.

On Conceptronics website I found this: -

It would be a strange coincidence that two routers at two different locations have developed exactly the same problem. I think you should check the PC/laptop that you are using to access them - otherwise, it may be that the devices had ports that were left open, and a hacker has accessed them and changed the passwords or done something else to them.

As for the chipset, we are not familiar with it, and so won't be able to assist in that regard.

well ,
when you opened the router did you see any capacitor bulging or anything out of place , also a picture of the board might help
if its a hardware issue

what you are facing might be related to a hardware failure due to overheating /continuous running the routers

this is how the routers(those with ar7 chips) fail
yours may or may not be one with ar7 cpu
upload some high resolution pictures of the board

Hi, ... I'm a low level NW user & know this case is pretty old - BUT:
I do face the exact issue with my NEW BOUGHT C150APRA2 & never ever since purchase were able to LogIn to the router!
a) I can open the Log In picture on the browser Start
b) I can select from dropdown menu User Id ==> admin
c) I can enter the PW ==> admin
d) ... then I can observe a short flicker on screen & that's it

1) When I use a different PW .. I receive a message " Wrong PW " .. means the PW admin is accepted as correct I assume!
2) If I try too many times I receive a message " Too many attempts ! ... assume the router is corresponding with my PC!
3) I tried several Resets & Power off options ... no success!

Questions:
x) Was there a solution to this case / issue ?
y) Any other tests performed by someone?

I think you need to contact the manufacturer (or whoever sold the device to you).
