Yes, the ASUS RT-N66U doesn't have a built-in modem. But the ASUS DSL-N66U (which is the one I linked to above) has a built-in VDSL modem. AFAICS, this is the only difference between the RT-N66U and the DSL-N66U.

Indeed, ASUS model numbers are very tricky, slight difference in the numbers but toataly different models :?

Indeed, the naming convention is odd.

As usual, the real issue with these wireless devices is the strength of the wireless signal when it has to go through walls and floors ...
