RE: Is there a difference in download speed and buffering..?

Support forum for routers of all shapes and sizes. As long as it's router based and doesn't fall into the other categories, this is the place to ask your questions.

Hello. Nice to meet you! I have a question that I have been pondering for some time and I found this forum to likely be the best place to ask it.

My question:

Generally speaking, is there a difference in download speed and buffering/temporary freezing on a router contrasting between a 128 MB vs 16 MB flash memory when downloading, say 45 minute YouTube video with all other possible factors remaining the same (a constant) like the PC hardware stats; the modem hardware stats; and having an ISP provide sustained rates of 3Mbps Downstream and 500kbps upstream? If there is a difference, please explain if you can.

NOTE: FYI, the RAM is 128 MB for either a 128 MB or 16 MB flash memory on the router.

Please reply.

Thank you!
