I seem not to be able to download it at all. Are you sure the files are still OK?

I have tried downloading from different locations, using a diffferent browser and using different caches. Every time (and for all the files listed on the opening page of the thread) I get a CRC error from the .exe and a message that it's corrupted.
SCRATCH THAT!

I changed decompression program (from ALZip to winzip) and it all started working.

I am having big trouble getting in to my Xavi 8222r with the RUC.

I don't know the name and password for telnet access.

Since I know someone here has upgraded one of these before, then maybe you will have the name and password.

I tried with all sorts of Admin/Admin, Admin/Password, admin/admin, admin/password type names and passwords etc. etc. but no luck so far.

The telnet username is usually "root" so try that with the various passwords ;)

I tried that. No luck there.

I also started a new thread asking another question, but which also led up to the same thing as here: viewtopic.php?p=35601

In which case, this discussion should be continued there, and not here, otherwise, the other thread needs to be locked. We can't have the same discussion going on in two places.

Are you 100% sure the telnet username is the same as the web UI password? Because, in my experience, it's always been different: see kb.php?mode=article&k=35

Try to telnet manually in to the router to confirm the login details.

I have a problem with my router and the utility.

After running the utility I get 3 files:

With the information you have given about your problem? Let's see what you have told us:
Aldekein wrote:"I have a problem with my router and the utility.
Unfortunately, saying that, and then posting output from the RUC tells me nothing about what your "problem" is, or how you got there.

Oh, I see.

The problem is that I have a router which model and manufacturer are not mentioned at routertech.org and I'd like to install the routertech custom firmware on it but I'm afraid of making it unusable.

I tried the recommended utility to check it but it didn't neither answer the question positively/negatively nor give any hints where to search for.

So do you have a problem with the router itself or do you not?
