Oh, I see.

The problem is that I have a router which model and manufacturer are not mentioned at routertech.org and I'd like to install the routertech custom firmware on it but I'm afraid of making it unusable.

I tried the recommended utility to check it but it didn't neither answer the question positively/negatively nor give any hints where to search for.
Post the RUC Output and perhapsm we can give further assistance...

hi , i'm new to this and i'm getting a problem with the RUC this :
00:00:000 Running script
00:00:001 Opening connection
00:00:008 Winsock Control Error - 10051 : Network is unreachable.
00:04:626 Closed connection.
Aborted by user.

i just abort it since it doesn't go further then 1% or 2% ( with skip login) .

I'm On vista ultimate 64bits. And tryed to open the telnet or i think it was the telnet what i opened on the gui of the router ( but i dont see any username or password field to fill in )
My router is Ntech AWR54a = solwise SAR600EW = Aztech DSL 600EW

One doubt : i really dont know if my router is from Series " R " or not do you know if it is ?

and i would like to test diferent firmware since this router sucks a lot , like router page stoping working and everything else work , or webpages stop working but MSN and mIRC does work .. my firmware version is : 66.81.1

thanks

Login to the router via telnet or ssh, and supply the outputs of these commands:

Code: Select all

cd /
cat etc/versions
cat /proc/ticfg/env
cat /proc/modules
cat /proc/interrupts
cat /proc/avalanche/avsar_ver
cat /proc/avalanche/avsar_dsl_modulation_schemes
/sbin/ifconfig

For instructions on how to telnet into the router, see kb.php?mode=article&k=35

Also, please consult the RUC readme.

Your hardware is okay, and should be compatible. Your problem will lie in how your flash has been partitioned. Your mtd settings are for upgrading via separate images (config + kernel + filesystem). This means that you cannot use single-image upgrades, and rules out RT v2.8 or 2.9, unless you take some drastic measures of converting your mtd partitions to accept single-image upgrades. The RRT can help in that conversion, but you should be very careful.

As a matter of fact, these old Aztech 600EW Adam2 clones can be very problematic to upgrade. You should not do anything unless you are adept at de-bricking, and are very familiar with tools such as the pctool.

hi , desaster ocured to my Ntech , it has bricked but it was not from upgrading i think it was because i was saving the configurations of it and it stoped working ( didn't showed me the confirmation window) .. i rebooted the router and it stoped working only turns the power led ( that is allways red it should pass to green ) and the leds of the ethernet ports btw i can't now conect via telnet so maybe it's really dead and i can't do nothing , i saved my configuration some time ago , can i un brick it ? anyway i just bought a new router today a D-link DKT-710 ( DSL-2640B & DWA-111) , so please can you help me try to un-brick it .

EDIT : I had just un-bricked my NTECH , i'm happy to get in this adventure and put it running again , the router acepts sinle image firmeware downloaded it from :http://www.solwise.co.uk/adsl-sar600ew.htm not " R " series and voila :D , my router is the same that is shown on that page. but i guess i'll just stick with this D Link since is much better this Ntech will be for the case that this D link die xD

RT Firmware has a web admin gui - just use web browser and enter 192.168.1.1 (or your routers internal IP address) and see somthing that should look like this Demo of 2.6 :-

i can't get the RUC working :s

well this time it checked .. i guess the other time was because of the buggy firmware that was installed from factory , it says that is possible , but it said first that my ethernet ports wren't marvell and so is not suported but then apear a window showing that is suported : here :

Edit : found that the problem was on the ftp that i was downloading , just needed to connect directly to the server so .. maybe server's fault
