Select an AR7RD PSPBOOT 4 PORT firmware.

Or choose the Lite firmware version: routertech-ar7rd-lite-4ports-firmware-20110502.zip
Please read the instructions that come with the firmware files before you upgrade.
Note: a later version of the firmware may exist depending on the how up to date the RUC is.
The date-stamp may be superseded, but the rest of the filename should be the same.

I've a problem with a Tenda W300D router.

Ruc with me that on the abort file:

Code: Select all

00:00:000 Running script
00:00:001 Opening connection
00:00:231 ÿýÿý!ÿûÿûBCM96328 Broadband Router
Login:
00:00:468 Password:
00:00:468 Delay for 3 second(s)
00:03:470 >
01:40:204 >
01:40:207 Closed connection.
Aborted by user.
This router is weird, and you need to type sh in order to get into the busyBox, I think that's the reason for what RUC gets stuck on 10%.

That's what I do when I telnet manually my router:

Code: Select all

BCM96328 Broadband Router
Login: admin
Password:
Login incorrect. Try again.
Login: root
Password:
 > sh

BusyBox v1.00 (2011.08.13-03:20+0000) Built-in shell (msh)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

BCM96328 Broadband Router
This shows that the router has a Broadcom chipset, not AR7. So the RUC will not work on it, and neither will RouterTech.

Thank you very much for your answer. Do you know where else I can look (tried openwrt and dd-wrt)? I can't find the router model anywhere for any custom firmware. I think it's a good router but its default firmware sucks.

Thank you! I will read and try every option, but is quite difficult as no one seems to have any information about it. Sorry about the offtopic.

Is there any update of Router Upgrade Checker planned for Firmware v2.97?

RUC 1.4.1 tested working with wine-1.4.1 on LMDE (Debian Testing/Wheezy based).

Might need VB6 runtime environment, which I had already needed to install, to be able to run "MTD Calculator".
