No I dont think so,
"At the command line, enter the following command paying attention to your router's IP address:
# telnet 192.168.0.1"
----- Until this bit its fine, but the following doesnt happen,
"The BusyBox prompt will then appear confirming successful connection to your router's Telnet server:
BusyBox v1.00 (2005.07.29-07:22+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
#"
instead login prompt appears, which usually happens in any linux box.

That sounds the normal behaviour for a Class II router: kb.php?mode=article&k=35__pravin__ wrote:instead login prompt appears, which usually happens in any linux box.
In which case you should be able to log in using 'admin' and 'password' or similar.
It could be that later firmware versions have changed significantly or that certain 'doors' have been closed.__pravin__ wrote:Interestingly the other functions doesnt work as well for Toolbox. If i try to see the ADSL stats it says router is not connected to internet.

I suppose you have tried "root" as the username with the different potential passwords (admin, Admin etc)?

Sky have b@st@rdised the netgear router with their own firmware version.
The telnet command to the router has been disabled so you cant even access a lot of the info and tweak commands normally available on this router.
To complicate matters further, your login is tied to the router they as its mac address is your sky login authentication.
Your password is also hardcoded into the router in hex.
- Note - these are not the same as the admin login for the router.
Therefore they dont even give you any logon details that you can put into a router of your own choice.
As part of your T+Cs sky insist that you use their router.. and updating the firmware is considered a breach of your contract :/
Im not saying it cant be done;) ... but its risky and not for the faint heated.

I HATE HAVING SKY NOW!! Does any one know how to change firmware in sky+netgear dg834gt router and have it still in working condition??
Cheers

Nowadays there are many websites which do similar things - for example:

Try some of those

Re: Netgear DG834GT Router Toolbox
Hi I recently purchased this http://wirelessinternetinfo.info/my-rev ... s-n-router netgear router. I think it's model WNDR3700. Is it possible to use this toolbox with that router? Or do I require the DG834GT? Thanks
