Router Stats Logger
First off all, thanks for your fast reply neo.
What we are looking for, is a Option to throttle down the Noise Margin (for more Speed)
and maybe set it up if your line have unsteady Noise Margin's
(to safe the Modem for a resync when the Noise margin drops down too much).
Some modem's can handle this with a BCM6348 (Broadcom) Chipset.
Here is a example...
*Note: The Target Noise Margin Option is only avalible on a few firmware version's.
default SNRM:
with Target Noise Margin adjusted:
I don't know if the Texas AR7 can handle that like a BCM6348.
btw. DSLFC0 options 24 and 25 works, but this is not the main thing we are looking for.
We have tested all Options that make sence for our Lines.
And some Options are working great like the CENT Upstream Fix and extended tones for the Upstream !!
But the best options would be a adjustable Target Noise Margin.

Thanks for the info LinerX - I was already aware of the DMT tool and in fact it was in part the inspiration for the genesis of the RSL Unfortunately, we are still limited by the chipset and I think the the 'Retrain margin' feature is probably the closest we can ever get.
I'm not sure, there are a few advanced settings (such as DSLPC0 bit 15) that deal with power but I don't think they will do what you want. I was under the impression it is largely dependent on the physical connection and the exchange.bytefax wrote:Is there a way to set up (reduce) the Channel Power Level ?
Thanks - the graph looks OK on ADSL G.dmt so I expect the problem is how the RSL handles the ADSL 2+ data. I will try to fix this...bytefax wrote:btw.
the X-Axis as Tone Graph is incorrect.
DS Data dont start at tone 64 it starts at tone 96...see that hole between tone 64-96

bytefax, could you run the "rsl.bat" file in THIS script with the Telnet Scripter and PM the "rsl_out.txt" file to me please? It might help to have some sample data to test it withI wrote:Thanks - the graph looks OK on ADSL G.dmt so I expect the problem is how the RSL handles the ADSL 2+ data. Thanks Looking at the raw data, it appears there really is a gap in your bits allocation:
The first four lines of the downstream bit allocation are all zero, so according to this, the graph in the RSL is correct. It looks like the OrbMT is shifting the DS section to the left.

Here it starts at 64
and here at 96
is it possible that the 4 lines "with 00" are the tones 32-64 ?
some ports are using the tones 32-64 for ds carrier with echo canceling

Thanks for the extra screenshots
I have added the option to change where to start using the downstream bit allocation data (to version 1.0.28) - see the "Start DS bit allocation at" box. In your case, you should set this to 64
Download v1.0.28
Let me know if it looks OK
I guess it's possible, but then it would be something specific to your setup - on my router, I have data in the third and fourth lines. Then again, I don't have ADSL 2+ and I wish I had your speeds!bytefax wrote:is it possible that the 4 lines "with 00" are the tones 32-64 ?

Well, that is to do with rounding floating point values for the graphs. Since you can only have a whole pixel, occasionally a small gap can appear between the graph lines (you will notice it is a regular intervals). If you go to the 'Report' tab and then click on the 'Show graphs' button, you should be able to enlarge the graphs and this will reduce the chances of this happeningbytefax wrote:ok .. now there are ugly lines in the view

OK, when you see the problem again, can you run the "rsl.bat" file like before and then send the data to me? It seems that there is some unusual data coming from the router that the RSL can't handle...

Thanks for logs, they show that there is some graph data that is either missing or not in the expected format.
