RUC on D-Link DSL 500-T

Post by Ka4_0k » Sat Jan 22, 2011 8:48 pm

Hi. I have D-Link DSL 500-T (Lastest V3 firmware from D-Link ftp). I found it on the list here:
faq/firmware/compatible-routers/

But when I run RUC it freezes at 79% (in windows 7 with "vista-telnet-fix" as admin (native,XP SP2 compatibility,XP SP3 compatibility) with disabled antivirus and firewall, in virtual machine (Win XP SP2)).

Port 5000 is free (as the 80 and 23).

Here is the output:

Aborted by user.
Already tried to untick backup current/default config but the results are the same. There is a note in the field "IMPORTANT NOTICE" in the beginnig that says:
" if the RUC fails around the 74% your router may be blocking access to the /var directory"..
I'm nearly sure that this is the problem...

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry for the message size, I really don't know what part of it is really needed..

1.
my_ipaddress 5.8.8.8
2.
06:23:356 wget: Unable to connect to remote host (192.168.0.5): No route to host
It may be that this discrepancy is not the real cause of your problem - but attempting to marry 5.8.8.8 with 192.168.0.5 will only cause problems. I think you need to decide which IP range you want to use for your router.

Try to use Bridged networking instead of NAT, in Virtual machine.
I had the same problem, but with bridged networking RUC finished correctly.

Hm... Yes, there is really 5.8.8.8 in env... But where can I change it?
Here is my config:

192.168.0.3 - Wireless TP-Link router.
my ip is 192.168.0.5 (given by dhcp from 192.168.0.3). I can telnet into the modem (192.168.1.1) normally.

I've attached screenshots.

You need to connect the 500T directly to the PC. As for your 5.8.8.8, running this from telnet should fix it

Code: Select all

echo "my_ipaddress 192.168.1.1" > /proc/ticfg/env

Thanks! RUC has reached 100% and reported that the upgrade is possible.
