Problem with "watch topic".....
Every now and then when I subscribe to watch a new topic from the Active Topics page it doesn't present the normal "return to active topics/go to topic" page - see link below for the page it does present :-
toggle_watch.php?t=651&watch=topic
Same behaviour with IE7 and Firefox 2.

Your link showed a blank page (apart from the header and footer), BUT the link was to subscribe to a topic already subscribed to. As soon as I unsubscribed from the topic using the active topics screen and then subscribed with your link, I got the expected response. I've also not managed to recreate this on any other topic to which I'm not subscribed.
Are you sure it doesn't just happen when say you have two windows to RT open and have actually just replied to a thread you subsiquently try to subscribe to? This would of course mean that although the link said watch in active topics, because the page wasn't refreshed since replying you are actually trying to subscribe to a subscribed thread. Thats the only explanation I can think of anyway.
I'll keep this thread open and if you or others have any more reports of threads you can't subscribe to when you are definitely unsubscribed at present, post a link to them.

Very odd; I wasn't yet seubscribed to that thread but clicking your link subscribed me with a confirmation message as expected, whereas I assume it didn't/doesn't for you
I'll have a look into this issue a little more; what exactly do you see when you have a "bad" link? Does it show a blank page apart from the header/footer or is there an error? If there is an error, please paste it up

I notice you had two tabs open for RouterTech - could it be a similar issue to the one Kieran described?

I just tried the following:
1. Open two tabs, both on 'Active Topics'.
2. In tab A, click on 'Watch' for one of the topics listed - the forum registers that I will now be watching said topic, as expected.
3. In tab A, the caption changes to 'UnWatch', again as expected.
4. In tab B, the caption still says 'Watch' for the topic since it's a static page.
5. Clicking on 'Watch' in tab B creates a page exactly as your screenshot shows.
It does seem to be a PEBKAC

Indeed I agree with Neo; without deliberately subscribing to a topic and then resubscribing to it, I definitely can't get it to do that.

Actually laughing out loud at that. Love it. Needed cheering up this morning.
He ached all over. It wasn't just that his brain was writing cheques that his body couldn't cash. It had gone beyond that. Now his feet were borrowing money that his legs hadn't got, and his back muscles were looking for loose change under the sofa cushions.

Hmmm....
Still doing it and I've removed the chair from the equation now as I'm kneeling on the floor
toggle_watch.php?t=663&watch=topic
I'll swap out my mousie just to check that
