VOIP ( SIP ) with Speedtouch 516v6 6.2G

Post by ianwhitbread » Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:54 am

I have been Trying to get my Grandstream ATA to work behind a Speedtouch 516v6 Modem ( 6.2G firmware )

I have tried the "connection unbind application = SIP port = 5060" "saveall" COMMAND but this does not seem to work

Can someone please point me in the right direction to get Sip to work with that modem

Thank you

Ian

Hi Ian,

I have not used the Grandstream ATA adaptor myself. What provider are you trying to use with the ATA??

Here is a guide for the ATA 486 from Sipgate, it may not be the same as yours but may reveal more config settings avaliable.

You can also have a look through your providers guide (if they have one).

Thank you for your Reply my Grandstream is OK nothing wrong with that!

The Fact is that the Speedtouch Modem has a Alg and for some reason i cant get round it ( apart for Turning my Modem into a Bridge and Sky ISP don't seem to like that )

what I need is some CLI to get round the Speedtouch Blocking the SIP

Thanks Anyway

Oh, apologies I must of got the wrong end of the stick.

You need to set up your Speedtouch 516v6 Modem in order to use your ATA!? Does the 516v6 have build in SIP/VoIP?? I wouldn't of thought the router would be blocking the ports; obviously the ports needed for the SIP/VoIP are being forwarded to the ATA??

Unfortunately I have not had any dealings with this modem either; hopefully someone on the forum will have it and be able to help you more.

Sorry I can't be anymore help than that. If I get a chance, I shall try and get hold of the Modem/ATA combination and have a look over it; but I can't promise anything.

FIXED

the answer is the following Line Command

:connection unbind application=SIP port=5060
:service host add name=VoIP mode=server
:service host rule add name=VoIP protocol=udp baseport=5060 portrange=5060-5061
:service host rule add name=VoIP protocol=udp baseport=16384 portrange=16384-16482
:service host assign name=VoIP host=192.168.1.2 log=disabled
:nat tmpladd intf=Internet type=nat outside_addr=0.0.0.1 inside_addr=192.168.1.2 protocol=udp
:saveall
:system reboot

then having the ATA Device on ip 192.168.1.2

Thanks for all your help
