Post by Shotokan101 » Mon Apr 09, 2007 5:47 pm

Hi,

Using RT V2.2 and can't quite see how to point the DMZ at a non-existant IP address ?

YES.

Oh you want to know how ???
Under 'Advanced' menu select 'LAN Clients' and enter the IP for DMZ ie 192.168.1.254 Can enter a hostname ( DMZ ? ) but not required ( nor is MAC )
Once saved as a static IP can then enable DMZ to it !

LOL

Thanks Biro - I had actually tried that but got confused by what was needed and what wasn't - couldn't even get it to accept a REAL client

With your info. I tried again with just the IP and a Hostname and it "sort of worked" - I tried entering 192.168.1.99 but it the displays it as a static host of 192.168.1.0 - any ideas ? (and yes if you have any on this subject please share them)

...every day of every week

@biro - can't reproduce it - after posting I was checking out my son's xbox360 call of duty 3 problem since router upgrade - looked to be port forwarding related - so put xbox into dmz role and afterwards couldn't reset the 192.168.1.0 as the 192.168.1.99 was accepted o.k.

...so problem "solved"...... :?
