SAR-600EW port forwarding

Post by joshua197 » Fri Jul 13, 2007 8:13 pm

My SAR-600EW router seems to be stealthed. www.grc.com cannot detect any ports even though I have a port forwarding rule for SMTP (port 25).

Am I missing something?

Why do you want grc to find it?

Is the client app/server for smtp runningg on your PC when you check using grc ?

What is your "real" problem ? is your smtp mail not working ?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I am running Postfix, which is running n my Linux box and listening on port 25. A couple of days, email stopped coming in. I used the autoturn facility that my ISP provides to dequeue the email. However, it isn't dequeuing.

Hi - thanks for the info. :)

Does the Linux box have a static IP and (obvious question) is it the same as your port forwarding rule ?

Can you post a screenshot of your forwarding rule setup ?

Yes, I have a static IP from my ISP and the Linux Box is also static (192.168.1.2).

I should say that this PostFix server has been running for several months without problem, until now,

That hasn't made any difference.

I am starting to wonder if it isn't the router at all. I did an upgrade of my CentOS installation a few days ago. I am starting to wonder whether that has broken Postfix or done something to SELinux. I shall investigate further.

It is sorted, but I am so annoyed at my ISP (Plusnet).
I changed my package to 'Broadband My Way' This was implemented last week and they had added a firewall with all of the common ports closed. Previously I had not used their firewall facility. However, they omitted to advise me they were doing this.

I suppose I should have put two and two together. :)

Thanks for the advice though.
