Copying and reinstalling router config

Post by pefr_it » Fri May 04, 2007 12:57 pm

I tried to use the standard feature of RT2.2 to save the configuration from a Roper Flynet router (ROADSL2PWG) and transfer it to another router of the same model in which i previously installed RT2.2 so to "clone" the first router.

When I tried to reload the config.bin file in the new router I received the info of succesful update but when I restarted the router It was completely frozen (I can have an answer only with ping, no telnet, no web).

To solve the problem I had to make an Hard reset of the router (using the reset button).

I tried twice with same result.

Do You know if exist a problem on the save/ restore config fuctionality of the firmware ?

Which can be an alternative to copy the whole configuration ? (copying and flashing mtd??).

Thanks

Franco
