I have a Dlink G604T router which I managed to brick when a system crash occurred during a firmware upgrade. After trawling through the internet I came to this site and have got to the point where pctools connects to the router and I can successfully put the kernel file but keep getting error426 transfer aborted whenever I try to put the fs bin file on the router. I have set the env variables and all else appears to be ok except for this problem. I have tried different fs / img files from d-link and other sites and still the ftp file transfer fails about 80% of the way into the transfer. Any help would be appreciated .....

Welcome! I suggest you try a different PC-Tool or maybe the D-link Tiupgrade repair tool - as distributed by darkwolf with his customized for the 604T version of Routertech firmware.

Glad you are sorted - the 604T does seem prone to problems in updating firmware - which is why they package the Tiupgrade. I also have had troubles with PC-Tools - I suspect they are now quite old 2003? and don't work so well with new fast computers and service packed XPs (not at all in Vista?).
