Yeeeeeeeeeessss!! What else did you expect? Now, if you are interested in fooling around with minix partitions, then you might be able to do something about it yourself.

How long did you wait for?
It never stop to wait and it never return to "home": I had to go to "home" manually!

Do you know the meaning of "eternity"?
In all RouterTech versions (I test them on my DSL-300T and DSL-504T) after the Restart in "Tools>System Commands" the RT fw continue to wait for restart without returning to the "Home" page.

Could this be a browser issue? I believe the "Redirect" to the home page is done using something browser side once the reboot page is loaded. What browsers have you tried? Do any work?

Well, it takes less than 2 minutes here ...

Just tested Pondera' restart issue here, with 1-port pspboot RT2.5

If restarted with direct connection to PC, PC times out loses IP address and connection is broken.

If connected via a hub so PC doesn't see cable disconnected it did return to home page after an age - perhaps 2 minutes!

ADSL2MUE

Post by foskarulla » Fri Apr 04, 2008 2:25 pm

Flashing 2.5 on a ADSL2MUE (previously running 2.3) worked like a charm (no even needed to reload his led config: it worked from stock, wow), thank you all for this firmware!

Only a small question, in the changelog I read "New dsp/atm drivers (7.03) added to the wireless firmwares". Even if 2MUE is not wireless it has a 4 MB rom, so I think this dsp is included here:

/drivers # ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 500 500 362422 Feb 20 15:52 dsp62A.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 500 500 169128 Feb 20 15:52 dsp62A.o
-rw-r--r-- 1 500 500 348110 Feb 20 15:52 dsp6B.bin
lrwxrwxrwx 1 500 500 8 Mar 31 18:47 dsp6B.o -> dsp62A.o
-rw-r--r-- 1 500 500 385738 Feb 20 15:52 dsp73A.bin
-rw-rw-r-- 1 500 500 168836 Mar 12 23:02 dsp73A.o

Per default is running 6.01.03.00. What are the differences with 7.03? There will be (even infinitesimal, ghgh) improvements if I load this one on a 7 mbit ADSL1 Italian line? I know that a versione number greater is not always synonym of better performance, but I'd like to know the differences. Thanks.

Yes the 4MB ADSL2MUE version has a lot of the features of the wireless including the newer DSP drivers. We do not get to see the formal release notes for these, but can see there are some specific interoperability fixes quoted in the code. It is likely there will be little difference for ADSL1, most seem to be for ADSL2+ which is relatively new in widespread use. But try it and see, it is easily reversed! I get better performance in ADSL2+ with dsp7.3, ymmv.

General opinion of V7 drivers is that they are more robust (fewer dropouts), but this may be achieved by a slightly lower connect speed. Also the newer drivers tend to be bigger and take more processor cpu/ram so are not included in the smaller ram devices.

Welcome

Good news about Annex B, we can't test that in UK!

If pppoe not working on certain websites, try first setting MTU to 1400 and make sure the box "Enforce MRU" in connection settings is ticked.

Also what router/firmware and please confirm you reset to defaults after loading new firmware, and have rebooted after entering your settings and configuring.

What router are you using? Which RT firmware image have you put on it? What does the RouterTech router diagnostic information contain? What modulation are you using? What is your operating system? Have you tried a lower MTU setting than 1400? etc., etc.
