are this mtd settings from v2.5 still valid (given by thechief here)

Code: Select all

mtd0 0x900d0000,0x903f0000
mtd1 0x90010000,0x900d0000
mtd2 0x90000000,0x90010000
mtd3 0x903f0000,0x90400000
mtd4 0x90010000,0x903f0000
I reply to myself: yes it works!

An awesome release!

Two short notes, if I may.

1 - this release works well on an Open Networks 625w (Aussie clone of the sar605ew by the looks) - only needs the correct LED config loaded and all is green.

2 - can a new time-zone be added please (for Australian folks)?

(GMT+9:30) Adelaide, Darwin

Other than that, this thing is a dream and blows the stock open networks (http://www.opennw.com/) firmware out of the water. Well done on another great release.

Does their firmware have the correct timezone? Is there any GPL sourcecode available?

Presumably you have an 8MB ram non wireless router were DSP73A is now the default and only?

Can you post the output from the diagnostic screen from a version that works (obscure the MAC addresses & ISP account details if visible). Then we can see if there's anything obvious in the config that might affect DSP73A.

That's a new one. If you are on an annexA connection, I don't know of any reason why any modern dsp driver would not work. Perhaps you might want to post the system diagnostics (after removing all personal/sensitive data of course).

:Welcome:

On your connection setup untick the box labelled "usepeerdns", this should stop your dns servers being over-ridden when reconnecting.

Open Networks do not provide the source to their routers. I don't doubt that they are using some GPL sources as well.

As for the timezone, the original firmware did have it - perhaps an NVRAM variable? I'm wishing I had dumped out all the NVRAM content prior to flashing to have that handy. :)

Oh well.

YUPPPP :D
I can confirm that this is the solution !

For your info ... as I have read in other posts I cannot upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6 via web page, after the flash the 2.5 persists again, after some tray my solution was ciclamab with separate image mode.

I just thought I'd add that i've been using routertech since version 2.1, trust me when i say my dlink does NOT like upgrades through web UI. heh. And based on all these other posters here. I think it's reasonable to assume that it's pretty much impossible. You pretty much have to force feed these things firmware. Just hope chief gets one to test one day to see why they are so dang stuborn. I'll have to force feed 2.6 when i get home. Unfortunately do to my windows machines being vista only, pc tool and the ti tool both fail too.(but they are good for purposely bricking). So i will stil have to purposely brick it. Then use the OS X command line to force feed firmware into adam2 default ftp. :\ a good 30 min process.

Update, just got home, webui failed as usual, reported image had wrong CRC and was not usuable, oh well. (even though it was right image, and the mtd's and config were all right too.).

tried to use darkwoof tool, as usual it reported an "access violation" error and could not update firmware, set it to force, it would hang at 5-10% and brick router as expected. quite routeen at this point. Fired up back into OS X, opened unix ftp command line, and worked adam2 ftp magic, force fed firmware right in through that, reboot. all in order now. 2.6 up and running :D

I do have a G604T (bought cheaply from Ebay), and I successfully flashed RT 2.6 onto it via the webui (straight from Dlink firmware). I have flashed successive RT betas via webui. So I am not sure what the source of the problem is with other Dlinks. Perhaps a different flash? What is the output (RT v2.6 only) of

Code: Select all

cat /proc/flashinfo
?

All looks fine, so there is no obvious reason that I can see why a webui upgrade shouldn't work.
