Have you run the Router Upgrade Checker?

Yes, but with VISTA I have problems to run it: it doesn't run....
I have read about the list of router compatibility and there is a reference to a roper but seems concerning with other model...
There is a version compatible with mine?

Thanks.

Ah, vista again :?
To copy a recent post from thechief, can you telnet on to the router and post the outputs from....

Code: Select all

cat / etc/versions # remove space (inserted because the forum rejects it otherwise)
cat /proc/ticfg/env
cat /proc/modules
cat /proc/interrupts
cat /proc/avalanche/avsar_ver

Please see viewtopic.php?t=1062, in particular any references to Vista. Please check the readme file also on trouble shooting and error reporting. What error messages do you see etc?

As it's Vista you will first need to enable Telnet so see

Enable Telnet Vista

Once Telnet has been enabled type "Telnet 192.168.1.1" (use your router IP Address in the telnet command) from a dos command window

You should now get prompted with a login prompt so enter "root" as the user name and enter your "Admin" password for the router as the password.

All going well you should now be logged in to the command shell on the router and you simply enter the commands from the post above
cat / etc/versions # remove space (inserted because the forum rejects it otherwise)
cat /proc/ticfg/env
cat /proc/modules
cat /proc/interrupts
cat /proc/avalanche/avsar_ver
You can cut and paste the output from the command into a reply post here.

Hope this helps.

Jim

EDIT: - Please note that the use of quotes above - e.g. "Telnet 192.168.1.1" - are for illustration only and you should not enter the quotes themselves but simply the text within the quotes. :)

It's the same password you would normally use to login via the web interface for the Admin user - if you have not changed it it will be "Admin"

login

Post by Sirrom5 » Fri Sep 12, 2008 3:29 pm

I can't write the password because it's impossible digit letter.
Is the login the access gateway?

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean :?

Do you know your router admin password ?

The telnet login to the router should be username "root" and the password for your Admin user login via the web browser for normal router admin - normally set by default to "Admin" unless your router manufacturer has set it up with different values.
