I don't understand what you mean. You should not restore a backup of a config from an earlier firmware. Of course, you can back up your reconfigured v2.9 config, and restore that later ...

does this new version support devices with 2MB flash ?
I didnt found a notice about that in actual release notes.
The only thing i found was a notice in the ver. 2.8 release note:

5. This is the last firmware release for routers with 2mb flash.

der_Kief
Yes you will find new 2MB flash versions, the support has been extended with the pppoe/ memory improvements that have been worked on.

...
Thats pretty cool. Thanks for the Info. Will try it as soon as possible on my Sphairon AR860.
Thanks for the hard work.

I have updated v1.3.4 of the RUC to reflect this.

notinthisworld, if you download 1.3.4 of the RUC again and run it, you should be told which firmware package to use ;)

I could not find command to set driver to 7.05 it's in release notes but not how to enable it. It also wasn't in command list in router either.
