not able to change wireless security settings on the router

Post by chez » Sun May 17, 2009 10:53 am

I have partially de-bricked my SWART2-54125.
However, I am not able to save any changes to the wireless security settings.
I change settings, move to another screen, then immediately return to find the original WEP settings again.
If I select another WEP key, hitting the "apply" button reverts to the original key.

(I bricked it when I tried to revert to the safecom firmware. )

I managed to recover it so far using the TI pctools, but I do not know where to look for the problem.
I have tried to revert to the original environment files I saved before installing the first firmware for this wireless card.
Please advise where to look.

Have you enabled the wireless AP ? Did you reset to defaults after upgrading?

Did a hard reset again, enabled the wireless function, but noticed that the WLAN led does not light.
Switched for a few seconds and powered up again to see a steady WLAN led during the boot sequence, but it went out.
On checking the wireless setup screen, the wireless was enabled.

Wireless card is NOT active.

Code: Select all

NVS_TFTP_LOAD 1
could be that the EEPROM values are out of sequence

Code: Select all

WLAN_EEPROM14
WLAN_EEPROM3
WLAN_EEPROM4
WLAN_EEPROM5
WLAN_EEPROM6
WLAN_EEPROM7
WLAN_EEPROM8
WLAN_EEPROM9
WLAN_EEPROM10
WLAN_EEPROM11
WLAN_EEPROM12
WLAN_EEPROM13
WLAN_EEPROM0
WLAN_EEPROM1
WLAN_EEPROM2

Setting NVS_TFTP_LOAD to 0 may work if not then it's time to use NEO's Wireless Environment Builder.

You have at least two problems with your environment
NVS_TFTP_LOAD 1
IPA 10.0.0.4
You should set IPA to 192.168.1.1 and you should set NVS_TFTP_LOAD to 0.

Thanks for your help, Neo's WEB utility did the trick.
Now to resolve the problem of not being able connect after the AP has been on for an hour or so. :)
